1. Background
Japan aims to achieve significant greenhouse gas emission reductions by 2030, with the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) playing a key role in supporting mitigation efforts in Japan and partner countries while promoting overseas deployment of Japanese technologies. In the Asia region, addressing climate change alongside persistent air pollution and other environmental challenges requires integrated, co-benefit approaches that build on Japan’s experience and past cooperation.
In this context, this project conducts a feasibility study for model synergistic JCM projects in Asian JCM partner countries, contributing to integrated solutions for climate change, pollution, and other global environmental challenges, investigating the application of solid fuel conversion and supply chain survey for solid fuel conversion of agricultural residues such as rice straw.
The technical meeting will be held for the dissemination of the results of the project.
