Overview
Dust and Sand Storms (DSS) remain one of the most significant environmental challenges in Northeast Asia, affecting air quality, public health, ecosystems, transportation, agriculture, and economic activities across national boundaries.

Since 2008, China, Japan, and Korea have been conducting joint research on DSS in collaboration with Mongolia under the framework of the Tripartite Environment Ministers Meeting (TEMM), contributing to enhanced monitoring, forecasting, and scientific cooperation in the region.

Taking place during UNCCD COP17 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, this public seminar will bring together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders to share the latest scientific findings, exchange perspectives and experiences, discuss climate change-related DSS challenges, and explore opportunities for strengthening regional cooperation and future joint research.
