The Asia Center for Air Pollution Research (ACAP), Japan Environmental Sanitation Center (JESC) and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 27, 2026, to promote academic exchange and strengthen international collaboration.
Under this MoU, the two parties will collaborate on joint research and development in areas such as air pollution, atmospheric processes, emission inventories, air quality modeling, and climate co-benefits, while promoting exchanges of researchers and students and co-organizing academic and training events. The two parties will also support joint publications and the development of externally funded projects, alongside the sharing of data, methodologies, and technical expertise. In addition, the parties seek to strengthen capacity building in environmental and atmospheric fields, foster innovation and practical solutions through applied research and technology exchange, and enhance regional cooperation in Asia through networks, policy dialogue, and evidence-based environmental management.
