1. Summary
This forum is organized under the concept of “Integrated response to air pollution and climate change: technological innovation and international cooperation,” with the aim of strengthening air quality management through collaboration among a wide range of stakeholders. It will introduce the latest developments in policy support, including the Ministry of the Environment’s next-generation air quality monitoring initiatives, as well as the use of satellite observations, ground-based measurements, and low-cost sensors. In addition, the forum will feature discussions on the utilization of the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) to achieve both CO₂ reduction and PM2.5 control, measures to address transboundary air pollution, South–South cooperation, enhanced collaboration through international knowledge sharing, and the overseas deployment of Japan’s environmental technologies, with the goal of contributing to solutions to shared challenges across Asia.
Furthermore, the business matching sessions within the forum will invite government officials, researchers, and practitioners from Asian countries. With a view to fostering future JCM project development through the expanded overseas deployment of Japan’s advanced technologies, these sessions aim to promote solutions through the co-benefits of air pollution control and climate change mitigation, and the forum will be held accordingly.
